The All Progressives Congress, APC, has disputed the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP and the presidency to notify Nigerians why the ruling party
has failed to raise the homeland in the 14 years that it has been in the
saddle, ‘instead of peddling concocted tales about the opposition’.
In a declaration issued in Lagos on Sunday by its Interim nationwide Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party furthermore inquired the presidency to tell Nigerians why it has defied INEC rules by extending to crusade for the 2015 elections.
“Issues, matters and matters. These are what Nigerians are interested in, not relentless muck-raking about opposition managers like Gen Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. For demonstration, Nigerians desire to understand why the country can still not feed itself after 14 years of endless promises by the PDP; Nigerians desire to understand why they cannot be defended by their government when the security of lives and house is the rason d’etre of any government,” APC said.
“Nigerians want to understand why over 40 million youth cannot get a job under a government that gleefully touts a 6% GDP development; Nigerians want to know how 400,000 barrels of oil are being stolen every day and who the thieves are’ Nigerians desire to understand why the homeland is more divided than ever under the watch of leader Goodluck Jonathan, and why corruption has become a larger monster in the years under the PDP.
“The 2015 elections will be fought on the platform of matters, not meaningless attacks on personalities and attention-diverting tales like how Gen. Buhari wants to stage a comeback or how Asiwaju Tinubu likes to elaborate his imaginary empire,” it said.
What we intend to do
APC said its eight cardinal programmes, which will be articulated in the days ahead, comprise a summary of how the party intends to reposition the territory. These are conflict Against Corruption, nourishment security, Accelerated Power provide, Integrated Transport mesh, Free learning, Devolution of Power, Accelerated financial Growth and inexpensive Health Care.
“Our Guiding beliefs will draw from its impetus from these seven principles: Belief in, and the worry of God; supporting the direct of law; Preserving nationwide unity; Pursuit of a just and egalitarian humanity; Building of strong organisations; firm pledge to communal justice and financial progress; and Promoting agent and purposeful participatory democracy.
“These are the issues we will be enunciating in the days ahead as we guide the government of our territory away from jejune matters that are at the centre
of the PDP misrule to serious matters of relevance that will benefit our persons under an APC federal government,” the party said.
It said a party that defies directions and lies through its teeth cannot be trusted to direct over a persons who are keen for their homeland to connect the comity of developed countries.
“While one of the PDP gong-bearers, Okupe, was telling Nigerians that President Jonathan has not acquainted any person that he will challenge in 2015, his wife was forcing hundreds of hapless women, encompassing those in consistent, into a show of disgrace tagged a ”Peace Rally”, but in essence a crusade for President Jonathan ahead of 2015.
“Defying INEC, this bold crusade boasted women dressed in specially-made ‘ankara’ that unexciting the image of leader Jonathan and recalls one of the disgraceful days of the late despot Mobutu Sese Seko of previous Zaire, and the late clownish foremost of Uganda, Idi Amin. What a company to keep in the 21st century!
